Biography

"The visual world is full of surprises. I am motivated by its intensity and ambiguity."

Born in Arizona, Linda Creasey Brown grew up in California. She lived in Pennsylvania (B.A. Swarthmore College) and New York, before settling in Quebec, where her three sons were born M.L.I.S., McGill University).

As an artist, her first love was pastel. Her work in this medium has received awards from the Canadian Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada, and the Artists Magazine. It remains her medium of choice for plein-air painting or work form the model. Her larger paintings, landscapes and portraits, are executed in either oil or acrylic.

Her work can be seen at Galerie Marie Ancelin, Kamouraska, at Stewart Hall Art/Rental Gallery, Pointe Claire, and at the exhibits of the Lakeshore Artists Association.
